Weight a Minute before Replacing Sugar
Before substituting sugar for an artificial sweetener there’s quite a bit you should know, sweeteners are a never ending source of controversial claims both for and against them. These claims are often accompanied by warnings of possible cancer risks and neurological disease just for good measure. The number of different sweeteners themselves is starting to stack up, too. The healthy, alternative Stevia, has grown in popularity in the past few years, but the classics like phenylalanine and sodium cyclamate are still abundant in so many products.
The reason artificial sweeteners rose to such prominence in the first place was to lower calories and therefore offer a Diet options, which we now know do not work, new research suggests that even with a lower calorie count, people are still prone to gain more weight when opting for them than they would if they’d just gone with regular sugar-sweetened foods, of course, the best option is to remove as much sugar as possible from your diet without substituting for another sweetener.
