Dressings are the key ingredient to any salad, and these four from nutritionalist Natalie Brady are absolutely delicious and healthy too, choose from Avocado Lime, Cleansing Vinaigrette, Miso and Tahini.
“If you know me personally you’ll know I’m all about the dressing and sauces. Dressing are one of the best ways to jazz up a salad or any meal. Delicious dressing and sauces can keep healthy eating exciting and not boring. As always with my recipes these are ridiculously easy to make and store well in the fridge for a few days in a concealed jar.
Most store bought dressing are loaded with unhealthy fats and sugar, so why not put aside a few minutes each week and whip up your own healthy and nutritious dressing to enjoy. Here are four of my simple, healthy salad dressing recipes.”
My Go-To Tahini Dressing
2 heaped tbsp tahini
Juice from 1/2-1 lemon (depending on how juicy it is)
3 tbsp olive oil
Pinch himalayan salt
1-2 chopped garlic cloves
Method
Add all ingredients together in a jar or mug and mix together until well combined.
(I like mine quite thick, if you prefer a thinner consistency you can add more olive oil or lemon juice).
NB Cleansing Vinaigrette
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
4 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp honey
2 large garlic clove, peeled and thinly sliced or minced
1/2 tsp sea salt and pepper
Method
Add all ingredients into a jar with a lid and shake vigorously until well combined.
(Tip – allow the dressing to sit for 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavours to come together).
Miso Dressing
3 tbsp miso
Juice from 1 lemon or lime
1 tbsp tamari
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp honey
2 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1-2 tsp freshly grated ginger
Optional – 1-2 tsp sesame seeds
Method
Peel and chop ginger into thin slice or grate it using a thin grater.
Add all ingredients together in a jar/mug/blender and mix together until smooth.
