DIY Christmas Dish Powder in jar

This Christmas Dishwash Powder is a great DIY gift idea – pop it into a stylish jar, add a ribbon and a Christmas decoration and you have a lovely homemade green gift to give to a family member or friend.

There’s only three ingredients in this recipe and they are all natural, it makes enough for approximately 60 washes.

DIY Christmas Dishwasher Powder

1 ½ cup of Premium Borax

¼ cup of citric acid (purchase from the supermarket)

9 drops Lotus Synergy Christmas Tree Blend

(Or you can make up your own blend with 2 drops Orange Sweet Essential Oil, 4 drops Pine Essential Oil and 3 drops Clove Bud Essential Oil.)

Place all in a container with a good lid and shake until thoroughly combined, pop in a couple of silica sachets (I save mine from packets of tortillas and the like) as this will help to keep dishwasher powder powdery. If it does go a little hard give it a few stabs with a butter knife and a really good shake.

Use 1 Tbsp per load. If you live in an area with particularly hard water add add 2 Tbsp of Premium Soda Ash to this recipe to break down the calcium deposits.

As an alternative to chemical rinse solutions, fill up the rinse compartment with Premium Double Strength White Vinegar for sparkly dishes.
