summer scent hand wash

Summer’s here and I love the abundance of scents in the garden, blooming flowers, citrus and fragrant herbs. Why not bring those refreshing aromas into your daily routine with this Castile hand wash that you can make at home.

Not only is it a fun and creative project, but it’s also an eco-friendly and skin-loving alternative to store-bought products that often contain harsh chemicals.

This old fashioned recipe also uses glycerine which is a fantastic moisturiser for your hands.

DIY Summer Scent Natural Hand Wash

2 Tbs grated Green Goddess Unscented Castile Bar Soap

250ml boiling water

2 tsp glycerine

2 tsp rosewater

4 drops Lavender Essential Oil

2 drops Lime Essential Oil

2 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil

2 drops Spearmint

Add the grated soap to the boiling water, stir and then let sit for about 10 minutes until the soap melts. Stir in the glycerine, rosewater and essential oil.

When the mixture is smooth but still warm, pour it into a jar (when cold it will be harder to pour). To use, fill your foaming dispenser up half way with the hand wash concentrate, add warm water and shake well.
