In July I had the absolute pleasure of spending four days at the beautiful Mana Retreat in the Coromandel. This place is paradise!

Nestled away on 360 acres of picturesque bush and gardens the views are spectacular, the food is delicious, and the Mana Team make it a truly special experience. My favourite spot was the ethereal Tara Sanctuary on the peak of the hill, about a 20 minute walk through the bush from the main centre.

The sanctuary was built by hand which took several years, its Celtic design commanding a strong presence and the acoustics are out of this world. Hearing a group sign or chant in the Sanctuary is something you will not forget.

Mana hosts an array of different retreats throughout the year with something for everyone.

For more than 30 years we have been holding space for group retreats, workshops and professional development trainings. During this time, thousands of people have visited our Retreat Centre on the Coromandel. To experience mind-body education,  spiritual exploration and renewal. In addition to catering for visiting groups and guests, we are also supported by volunteer workers from around the world and contracted local staff.

Established as a charitable trust, we are a non-profit organisation seeking to find ways to support well-being on all levels. Our vision is supported by the kindness of individuals who give in many ways. It is our intention to create an environment of beauty, simplicity and inspiration. More specifically, it is our aspiration to hold a sacred space for all to step into the fullness of their potential.

Whether you journey here by yourself or with a friend, you will be sharing a group experience and one that they trust will be deeply nourishing.

Mana Dining

Their beautiful, open plan kitchen is the warm, nourishing centre of Mana and the food served to guests is an vital aspect of the Mana experience. Their food philosophy is centred around lacto-ovo vegetarianism and they aim to source as many ingredients as we can locally and seasonally. Beyond tasting amazing, it is their intention for every meal to be a source of deeply nourishing.

Mana Sleeping

A good night’s rest is essential for well-being. To support your comfort the beds are made up with fresh linen, soft pillows and towels. Some people find ear plugs helpful in shared rooms. On a crisp cool night you will find additional woolen blankets, a small heater and hot water bottles to add warmth. For those venturing to the sauna or bush bath extra towels are available.
