How’s this for an inventive way to keep your dog busy looking for their favourite treats? I really like this idea and it looks quite easy to make. It’s basically a rubber anti-fatigue mat, cut down to size, with a whole heap of fabric woven through it.

The snuffle mat lets your pet use their senses to search out buried food – they have to use their nose to root around and find everything hidden within. You can use it for regular feeding if you use small to medium sized biscuits, but don’t try to use raw meat. When all the food has been found, the snuggle mat doubles as comfy place for your fur baby to take a nap.

Making your own snuggle mat is also a great way to use up any old clothes you have around the house. The best fabrics for this DIY project are fleece or felt, however, towelling or a thick fuzzy cotton would work too.
