Are you having problems with grout mould? You are not the only one, every week several people come into the shop and ask what can be done to get rid of the mould and stop it coming back.
I’ve shared my tip of using cleaning paste, double strength white vinegar and an old tooth brush to remove surface mould on grout. And then I found this recipe in our archives.
Reader Mary Bimler sent in this recipe some time ago – she says it works a treat.
DIY Grout Cleaner
7 cups of Water
1/2 cup Green Goddess Premium Baking Soda
1/3 cup Green Goddess Double Strength White Vinegar
1/3 cup Lemon Juice
Mix all together and put it in a spray bottle to use.
Spray on grout to be cleaned, leave 2 minutes and then wash off.
Thanks Mary!
*If the mould has gone into the silicone gel you may need to remove it, throughly clean the area and reapply the silicone. There are tools to help you do this at Bunnings and Mitre 10, ask the shop assistant as I’m not sure of the name of the product.
