DIY Reusable Natural Dryer Sheets
Toxin-free, cost-effective, and eco-friendly

Looking to ditch conventional dryer sheets full of synthetic fragrances and chemicals? This simple DIY recipe from our archives is a fantastic natural alternative that leaves your laundry smelling fresh, soft, and static-free - without the nasties.

Made with just a few pantry staples and your favourite essential oil, these reusable dryer sheets are gentle on your skin, your clothes, and the environment.

DIY Reusable Natural Dryer Sheets Recipe

To make your own natural dryer sheets, start by cutting up a clean dish towel (I used Good Change Reusable Bamboo Wipes) or an old t-shirt into small squares, these will serve as your reusable sheets. Place the fabric pieces into a glass container with a lid.

Next, pour in 3/4 cup of white cleaning vinegar. Add 20 to 30 drops of your favourite essential oil - lavender is a lovely option for a calming, fresh scent and citrus is also a popular option. Gently stir or shake the jar to mix everything together and fully soak the fabric.

When you're ready to do laundry, simply wring out one or two of the fabric squares and toss them into the dryer with your wet clothes. Once your load is done, pop the used sheets back into the container to soak again ready for next time.

Why It Works

White vinegar softens fabric and helps reduce static cling. Essential oils infuse your laundry with a light, natural scent, minus any synthetic perfumes.

Using repurposed fabric means you’re cutting down on waste and avoiding single-use products.
