Are you running out of ideas on how to keep the children entertained during this lockdown period?

Whilst we still have decent weather this could be an awesome ourdoor crafts activity.  Made with just a few simple ingredients, slime making is hours of fun!

All you need to have a day of slime-filled fun is some PVA glue, borax (which is an alkaline salt) and warm water. You can add non-toxic food colouring if you’d like coloured slime or add bio glitter for some sparkle.

Ingredients

1/2 cup PVA glue

1/2 cup Warm water

1 tsp Green Goddess Premium Borax

1/2 cup Warm water

Optional – Non toxic food colouring to required shade or bio glitter

Directions

Place 1/2 cup glue into a glass bowl and mix in 1/2 cup warm water. Add food colouring at this stage if you choose to use it.

Next mix 1 teaspoon of borax into the second 1/2 cup of water and combine well. Then slowly add this solution to the glue mixture.

Keep adding and stirring until the slime starts to come together. You may not need all of the borax solution for this to happen.

Once you have a gooey stringy mass you can start to feel it and discuss what’s happening. Keep working the slime and it will start to change and become thicker.

At this stage you can knead it and then make it into shapes. Try cutting with scissors or adding items into the slime. Kids will come up with heaps of inventive ways to use it 🙂

When finished store in a sealed container for up to two weeks.
