Are you sick of pesky white butterfly caterpillars munching away on your cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower, and kale leaves?
Try using this totally organic, inexpensive and very clever method to get rid of them. I had never heard of it before, but it’s very easy – all you need is a few large lettuce leaves!
White Butterfly Caterpillar Repellent
For this you’ll need some lettuce, take off a five to six good sized outer leaves and place them in your blender or nutribullet and blend until they are totally munched up.
Strain everything through a sieve to get rid of any chunks, then put the juice onto a spray bottle and water down 50% with non chlorinated water (so that the chlorine doesn’t over power the smell of the lettuce).
Go and spray directly on your silverbeet, kale, cabbages, broccoli, cauliflowers etc. The smell of the lettuce repels the butterfly so they don’t lay eggs on the plant. Reapply after it rains.
