When Jessie’s new book The Glucose Goddess Method came out I wanted to try the method for myself. There are five hacks that she recommends for improved energy and mood and to reduce snacking and manage blood glucose.
Have a savoury breakfast.
Add a bit of vinegar before eating.
Add a veggie starter.
Get moving.
Drink coffee after food.
When I tried the method I found I wasn’t as hungry and didn’t feel like snacking. I also had more energy in the afternoon and was less bloated which was great. I don’t drink coffee so that hack wasn’t applicable to me.
By far the easiest hack for me was to drink a small amount of apple cider vinegar in water before I ate.
I really enjoyed her concept of having a veggie starter before each meal, and keeping clear from sugar and carbs in the morning and having a protein packed breakfast instead. This is also when I came up with my recipe for Low Carb Low Sugar Cereal which made breakfast so much easier.
