Living Home arch

If you’re in Christchurch don’t miss Craig Jarvis’s talk on building sustainable homes that are good for us and the planet.

Smash Palace, 172 High Street, Christchurch. 12 August, 5.30 – 7.30pm.

Craig Jarvis is a seriously clever green architect, he’s also my sisters fiancé and one the most amazing human’s! In 2004 Craig moved his two young kids onto a bare piece of land by the beach with no road access in Taylors Mistake, Christchurch to live his dream of being off-grid and totally sustainable.

The family first lived in a tent while he built a 13 sqm tiny home on the property, while living there for the last 15 years Craig designed and is now in the process of building an absolutely stunning off-grid home that will be New Zealand’s first ever ‘Living Building’.

Behind Craig is the roof of the 13 sqm tiny home.

A funny and engaging speaker, Craig is passionate about the use of healthy and sustainable building materials in homes and harnessing the earths power to generate electricity. He has given a number of talks on the topic, including a Ted Talk.

Check out Craigs Tiny House Journal here.

This talk is not to be missed if you’re into building green. For more information on Craig’s talk at Smash Palace click on this link.
