Say Goodbye To Cockroaches

Posted on January 28 2026

Are you tired of battling cockroaches invading your home? These pests not only create an unhygienic environment but can also be notoriously difficult to eliminate.

This DIY solution is not only inexpensive but also highly effective. The sugar acts as bait, while the toothpaste’s chemical properties make it toxic to pests. Plus, it’s safe to use around your home, provided it’s kept away from children and pets.

Say goodbye to cockroaches and chemical-laden sprays, and hello to a cleaner, pest-free home with this easy natural homemade remedy!

Homemade Cockroach Bait

Ingredients

3 tablespoons of sugar

4 tablespoons of flour

3 tablespoons of regular toothpaste with fluoride

3 tablespoons of water

Method

In a bowl, combine the sugar, flour, toothpaste and water. Mix thoroughly until you achieve a smooth, pliable consistency.

Take small amounts of the mixture and roll them into small balls. These will serve as bait for cockroaches.

Place the bait balls in areas frequented by cockroaches, such as kitchen corners, under the sink, near garbage bins, and behind appliances.

The sugar attracts the cockroaches, while the fluoride toothpaste acts as a poison, effectively eliminating them after ingestion.

Check the baited areas regularly and replace the balls as needed. Repeat the process two to three times a week until no cockroaches are spotted.

For extra power you can also add 1 tablespoon of borax to the recipe.

Bonus Tip: The Toothpaste Hack for Ants and Mites

If you’re dealing with ants and mites, the same toothpaste mixture works wonders. Follow the steps above but adjust the placement to areas where you notice ant trails or mite activity. The sugar draws them in, while the toothpaste ensures they don’t return.
