For anyone that has pets that are very much a part of their family as ours are, it’s heartbreaking to think about the dogs that are so badly let down by their humans. The wonderful volunteers at Saving Hope work tirelessly, donating hours of their time to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home dogs who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and to give them the care and love that they deserve.

The passionate and dedicated people who support this charity all work unpaid, meaning that every cent received can be used to benefit the dogs. Read on to find out more about the mission and values of this inspiring organisation.

From Saving Hope …

The Saving Hope Foundation is a fully registered Charitable Trust set up in July 2017. It is a dog rescue and rehabilitation organisation whose rescue operation is experiencing exponential growth that won’t stop anytime soon because of the huge demand and need for its services. Since its commencement Saving Hope has rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed well over 1,000 dogs and puppies and the number keeps growing daily.

Our mission is simple. To rescue, recover, repair, rehabilitate, retrain, re-love and re-home homeless dogs who have been abused, abandoned, tortured, hurt, traumatised or neglected. To give rescue dogs the care and love they deserve. “Rescue dog” does not mean damaged dogs…. it simply means these dogs have been badly let down by humans.

Saving Hope’s one goal is to place all abused, neglected and abandoned dogs with loving forever homes and owners who will make them part of their family. Owners who will give them care in surroundings where they will be safe, and live and play happily until it’s their time to pass on.

Saving Hope has had phenomenal growth because of their policy of never turning any dog away and putting the welfare of dogs as number one priority at all times. Saving Hope is now one of the largest dog rescue groups in the country.

We are a NO KILL Dog Rescue organisation. “No Kill” as it relates to animals means simply that – animals are not killed – except in exceptional circumstances where they are suffering or so traumatised or ill that there is nothing veterinary science can do to save them. Only then would we gently put that beautiful animal to sleep as the most humane thing we can do for them. Euthanasia is a last resort after every other avenue has been exhausted to save that life.

Euthanising a pet should only be considered when veterinary and behavioural experts determine that the animal’s condition is untreatable, and the animal has little or no chance of an acceptable quality of life. No-kill means saving every animal in a pound, sanctuary or shelter who can be saved. It means healing those animals who can be healed, fixing behaviours that can be fixed, and making sure there is safety and a high quality of life for them as well as people in the community.

We will take every dog that needs care and help no matter what shape he or she is in and no matter what the cost to bring them back to health and a new life. We will not allow any dog to be euthanised without every effort being made to make them well, give them love and a forever home. We want every dog to have a chance at being happy and cared for because so many of them have had sad beginnings and terrible starts to life at the hands of cruel and selfish people.

At the end of the day for us at Saving Hope “it’s all about the animals”.

The sick deranged minds of people responsible for cruel treatment of animals is hard for most of us to take in. It’s time for our animal welfare laws to be revisited and widespread major changes made so serious animal cruelty violations will receive zero tolerance and result in heavy penalties and jail for offenders.

The motto at Saving Hope is “No Dog Left Behind”.
