A few weeks ago I had an email asking about how to get the burnt smell out of a microwave oven. I remember when I was younger a friend had tried cooking an egg in the microwave without removing it from the shell first, or putting it in water, this did not go well.
The microwave ended up with egg splattered everywhere and parts of the egg had burnt leaving a terrible mess and horrible smell. If you use a microwave oven and have left something in there too long causing it to burn, here’s what to do to remove the smell and clean the microwave.
How To Remove Smoke Smell From A Microwave Oven
Boil a cup of water in an electric jug or on the stove.
Put the water in a heat proof jug or bowl and add 2 Tablespoons of Green Goddess Double Strength White Vinegar.
Reboil the water and vinegar in microwave and leave the door closed for about 10mins so steam covers the inside.
Wipe it out thoroughly.
Then spray with Green Goddess Rose or Citrus Surface Spray Cleaner, wipe again and leave door open for an hour to air out.
