As you know, I’m a big fan of turmeric which I buy as a root (like ginger) at an Indian greengrocer in Sandringham. It has fantastic healing powers and I always use it in my hot toddies when I’m sick. I found this recipe recently which I think might be a nice change especially served warm.
Ingredients:
2 Cups of milk, almond milk, coconut milk or rice milk
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 date (or 1 tsp raw honey)
1 pinch of Black Pepper
Instructions:
Pour all ingredients into blender
Blend until smooth.
Add ice if you would like a chilled drink or heat the mixture slowly for a warm drink. If you come down with the flu, warm turmeric milk is an ideal healing and soothing drink.
