Feed ducks peas and corn – not bread
I absolutely love ducks and I can’t wait to get a pair to put in my pond when we are in the Hokianga permanently. And if I see one I’m always out there trying to feed it bread. But not since I read this article which says that bread can harm ducks by preventing them from eating a natural, nutritional diet. Instead they fill up on white bread which is no good at all. Also left-over bread can pollute water ways and pollute the ducks’ environment, causing illness.
So instead feed them oats, corn or defrosted peas and they’ll be much better off for it!
