Do you struggle with an itchy, dry, or flaky scalp? Your shampoo could be to blame! Many commercial shampoos contain harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, and detergents that can strip your scalp of its natural oils, leading to irritation and discomfort.

If you’ve been searching for a gentler, more natural alternative, we’ve got the perfect DIY shampoo recipe for you to try.

This recipe was created by Wendyl many years ago, and it’s been a favourite ever since. Unlike store-bought shampoos loaded with sulfates and preservatives, this homemade version is made with simple, natural ingredients that nourish your hair and scalp.

DIY Natural Shampoo Paste

2 cups Green Goddess Premium Baking Soda

40ml Green Goddess Hemp & Rose Foaming Soap

20ml Aloe Vera Gel

8 drops Rose Geranium essential oil

8 drops Palmarosa Essential Oil

Whizz the Green Goddess Premium Baking Soda around in the food processor to get rid of any lumps. Meanwhile, mix the aloe vera, the Green Goddess Hemp & Rose Foaming Soap, and the essential oils together in a jug. While the processor is running slowly, pour the liquids in until you have a powder.

Keep in an airtight container and to use put some on your hand (I need about 1 tbsp) add a bit of water and mix to a paste, then put on your wet hair and wash as usual. Your hair will feel a little ropey while it is wet but will dry very soft.
