Nat’s Super Powered Banana Cacao Waffles

Starting your day with a nutritious chocolate waffle is always a good idea, especially when you smear it with almond butter and top it off with raspberries, what more could you want for breakfast!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup oats

1/2 banana

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 egg (or egg substitute such as Orgran)

1 tbsp raw cacao powder

1/4 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk

1-2 tbsp almond butter

1/2 cup raspberries (fresh or frozen)

Method

Pre-heat waffle iron. Add all ingredients except the berries and almond butter into a blender and blend together until combined.

Pour into waffle maker and cook until golden brown, roughly 4-5 minutes. (You can cook them more or less, depending on your personal preference).

If you use frozen raspberries – heat a small saucepan over low-medium heat, add raspberries and gently warm them for 3-4 minutes.

Remove cooked waffle from the waffle iron, smear with almond butter and top with raspberries.
