Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie

This recipe from the Medical Medium (Anthony William) consists of a number of superfoods that individually have amazing health benefits and when combined they make a super powered refreshing smoothie designed to detoxify heavy metals from your body.

Start with lower quantities of anything that tastes too strong for you and build it up to the recommended amount over time. Wild blueberries contain twice the antioxidants of normal blueberries and are usually available at Countdown.

In addition to its remarkable ability to remove heavy metals from the body seaweed is naturally high in iodine, a micronutrient essential for thyroid function.

Medical Medium Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie

Makes: 1 Serving (approx. 500ml)

Ingredients:

2 bananas

2 cups wild blueberries

1 cup fresh cilantro (coriander leaves and stalks)

1 orange

1 tsp barley grass juice powder

1 tsp spirulina

1 Tbsp of Atlantic dulse

Optional: 1/2 – 1 cup of water, coconut water or freshly squeezed orange juice to blend (if using coconut water check the ingredients to make sure it’s 100% pure, i.e. doesn’t contain any additives and isn’t pink or red).

Directions:

In a high speed blender, blend all ingredients until smooth. If a thinner consistency is desired, add up to 1 cup of water.
