Hydrating Facial Mist

Keep your skin healthy and vibrant with this hydrating all natural facial mist.  This blend is soothing, refreshing and delivers benefits to your skin while giving you a dewy glow. It is made with green tea with its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and mild astringent properties; rose water for its ability to soothe and hydrate the skin; and anti-inflammatory witch hazel.

Add in essential oils ylang ylang and frankincense and you have a beautifully scented mist that is light and hydrating without the toxins store bought mists often contain. If you are shopping around, ingredients to be wary of are alcohol, glyceryl polyacrylate, dipropylene glycol, butylene glycol, and the less obvious possible toxin, fragrance.

Fragrance can contain any number of synthetic chemicals and perfumes that can wreak havoc on the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin. Instead of listing all the ingredients that make up a scent, companies are only required to state that ‘fragrance’ is included in the formula. Unfortunately, there’s no way of knowing what actually makes up the fragrance. Make your own and take out the guess work.

Hydrating Facial Mist

Small reusable glass spray bottle

1/3 cup of witch hazel

1/3 cup of rose water

1/3 cup green tea

2 drops of ylang ylang essential oil

3 drops of frankincense essential oil

First make your green tea by using a tea bag and steeping in a cup full of boiling water for 20 minutes, then take the tea bag out and leave to cool (I left mine overnight)

Put all of the ingredients into a small glass jar with a lid and shake well to combine. Pour into the glass spray bottle and shake before each use. If you have any left over leave in the jar with the lid firmly on and keep in the fridge to prolong it’s life.

To use, spray over your face, not to close so that you have a mist. Use any time you need a freshen up or are feeling like your skin is dry and needs hydrating.  Can also be used after you have applied foundation to set it.
