Have you ever had a mark like this on your wooden furniture? It can be very disheartening thinking that your family heirloom has been ruined. The good news is that there is a simple and effective method that can restore damaged surfaces to their former glory.

Try this brilliant home remedy using common household items to restore wood and leave it looking as good as new.

How To Remove Marks From Wooden Furniture

The first step is to apply about a half teaspoonful of olive oil directly onto the spot. Known for its moisturising properties, olive oil can help rehydrate and restore wood.

Next use a soft cloth to gently rub the oil into the spot, ensuring the entire affected area is covered. As the oil penetrates the wood it will help to loosen the mark. Once the oil has been absorbed place a tea towel over the area.

Get out your iron and heat it up to medium temperature then very carefully run back and forth over the towel for a few minutes checking under the tea towel every 30 seconds.

With the continued application of heat, the spot will gradually begin to fade.

You may need to repeat this process until the mark has gone.
