PRETZEL

While browsing my favourite blogs this week, I found this great recipe for soft pretzels that I’m going to try over winter. Until a few years ago, I’d never tried soft pretzels.

I was used to the packets of super-salty pretzel chips that we get here in New Zealand, which are a completely different thing, but soft pretzels are so good! (maybe not the healthiest food option, though)

The biggest challenge of making these delightful bites is not eating all of them in one sitting.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 cup warm water or zucchini milk

1 tablespoon sugar

2-1/2 teaspoons yeast

1 cup white whole wheat flour

1-1/2 cups white flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons olive oil, divided

6 cups water

1/4 cup baking soda
