Having a healthy scalp is harder to achieve as we age. We often hear of men suffering hair loss, but it’s also common amongst women (especially as we head towards 50) to notice a difference in texture and a gradual increase in hair loss. I’ve built up an intolerance  to commercial shampoos and conditioners over the years and have become allergic to most brands. After trying quite a few and not having much success I finally found the Holistic Hair range. Their shampoos and conditioners leave my hair feeling silky smooth with lots of body, a lovely shine, and good manageability.
If you’re having ongoing scalp issues, try doing an Apple Cider Vinegar detox on a regular basis, this was a saviour when my reaction was at its worst. After doing the detox for a few weeks, my scalp calmed down, the flakiness disappeared, and my hair quality improved. You do smell a bit odd for an hour or so but it’s totally worth it.

Apple Cider Vinegar Scalp Treatment
Pour out enough Apple Cider Vinegar  for the thickness of your hair and use a cotton ball to apply the vinegar directly onto your scalp while parting your hair in sections.
Once your scalp is totally covered, massage the vinegar in for a few minutes and then wrap your head in a warm towel for an hour – this helps the vinegar get into your pores.
After an hour, wash the vinegar out with warm water and then gently shampoo with a natural shampoo followed by a natural conditioner (if necessary)
Do this twice a week until you notice an improvement.
