Are you a community-based organisation in Auckland wanting help to set up an edible garden? Get in touch with the awesome team at Gardens4Health, an initiative set-up by the Diabetes Foundation Aotearoa with the aim of preventing diabetes and its complications.
Gardens4Health aspire to reintroduce food-gardening as the norm for New Zealanders across all kinds of settings including homes, marae, workplaces, churches and schools. They provide free, practical advice to help with the setting up of new community gardens as well as ongoing maintenance of existing gardens.
The team is Ali who is the Central/East facilitator and team manager, Hari who looks after South Auckland, and Tania who looks after North and West Auckland (who I have bought a couple of beautiful house plants from and a dresser that was her daughters) – Tania has over 20 community gardens that she helps with each week!
