eco gift wrap boxes

Kids young and old love tearing the wrapping paper off presents on Christmas morning and there’s nothing quite like a beautifully wrapped gift sitting under the tree waiting for its contents to be revealed. The down side is that there’s a lot of waste created and most of it is not able to be recycled or reused.

Are you looking to ditch traditional wrapping paper and would like some creative eco-friendly inspiration?

How stunning are these presents!  These artistic creations are from Try To Be Zero, you can follow them on instagram here. Find flowers and plants from your garden which can be used fresh or dried, collect pretty shells and pebbles from the beach for decoration.

You can use brown boxes or craft paper to wrap your gifts (which can be reused next year if not torn up too much). Craft paper and plain brown boxes can be ripped up and put into your home compost.

This is a huge amount of rubbish that our transfer stations need to process and ultimately much of it is non-recyclable.”
