This year there’s been a lot of awareness raised regarding the income gap in NZ, which in my opinion has been coming for quite some time as things need to change. Eat My Lunch is an initiative started by Michael Meredith and Lisa King in 2015 and it’s grown beyond what they thought possible, it now delivers to over 30 schools five days a week.
Last week was my birthday so instead of a bunch of presents my family donated time, twelve of us including the kids were up at 5.30am heading into town to make 1200 lunches. After three hours of solid work we all decided it was something we want to repeat, the morning was a lot of fun and we had tangible results which hit home with everyone.
