If you find yourself stuck indoors and feeling creative on these wintery days have a go at making this liquid hand wash – it’s one of the many DIY recipes from Wendyl Nissen’s gorgeous book: A Natural Year: Living Through the Seasons.
This recipe uses glycerine which is a fantastic moisturiser for your hands.
Easy Liquid Hand Wash
2 Tbs grated Dr Bronner’s Baby Mild Castile Soap Bar (or Sunlight soap)
250 ml boiling water
2 tsp glycerine
2 tsp rosewater
10 drops rose essential oil (or any of your choice)
Add the grated soap to the boiling water, stir and then let sit for about 10 minutes until the soap melts. Stir in the glycerine, rosewater and essential oil. When the mixture is smooth but still warm, pour it into an empty soap dispenser bottle (when cold it will be harder to pour). This mixture is thicker than regular liquid soap.
