DIY floor tile grout cleaner

Borax is the hero in this recipe. This strongly alkaline substance is also an emulsifier, making it ideal for removing set-in stains from hard surfaces.

Floor tile grout slowly darkens or changes colour over time, it’s easy to overlook just how dirty it has become. Revitalise your grout at least once a year with this deep cleaning method, all you need are two natural products, water, a toothbrush and a little elbow grease.

DIY Floor Tile Grout Cleaner

Mix 1/4 cup of Green Goddess Premium Borax and 1/4 cup of Green Goddess Premium Baking Soda with warm water to create a paste and stir to combine. As you clean the grout you may need more water to keep the paste soft.

Apply paste to grout and gently scrub with a tooth brush, leave for a few minutes, scrub again and then wipe clean. If you have very dark grout you can leave the paste on for several hours and then spray with water, scrub again and wipe.

You can also use this mixture to clean tiles if they are particularly soiled, put paste on a cloth and rub in a circular motion, wipe off with a clean cloth.
