We are loving this initiative from Nga Taonga Aroha Early Childhood Centre in Otara who are working towards eliminating disposable nappies as part of their sustainability plan.

The following message is from Emma-Jane Jones, who runs this small charitable trust childcare centre:

I run a small charitable trust childcare centre in the heart of Otara, South Auckland and we are in desperate need of cloth nappies.

We currently provide cloth nappies for all of our tamariki to use and eliminating disposable nappies is a huge step in our sustainability plan however, we no longer have enough cloth to meet demand.  If anyone is getting rid of their stash and would like to donate them, please consider us.

We currently have 38 children enrolled at our service with very few paying fees as we believe everyone deserves top quality care and education without financial barriers. Many of our parents have been able to start study this year to create an awesome future because of this.

We currently have worm farms, bokashi, compost, 9 raised garden beds that feed our tamariki, their whānau and the local community, recycling, up cycling and reusing.

You can follow our journey at Nga Taonga Aroha Early Childhood Centre. We would gratefully receive any cloth nappies in good working order.

Ngā mihi.
