I kept beehives at my house in Auckland for a brief period in 2011. Unfortunately, every time my husband got stung, he became more and more allergic, so we ended up having to get rid of them. I still love bees and if I can no longer keep them, I still like the idea of keeping them happy. I found two really interesting articles on how to protect bees in your garden and how to garden for bees. So when the weather clears up, I’ll be getting to work planting a bee friendly garden patch.
