ŌKU Native Herbal Teas

ŌKU Native Herbal Teas

There’s something so very comforting about a good herbal tea – especially when it arrives as a thoughtful gift. I recently received a beautiful box of ŌKU teas, and I’ve been enjoying each one.

These teas are carefully crafted – a reflection of the care and intention behind ŌKU. The company was founded by Scott Smith, a Medical Herbalist and Naturopath, and his wife Helen Paul-Smith, who have run ŌKU as a family business since 2010.

The first tea I tried was Digest, a blend of kawakawa and peppermint. It’s refreshing, gentle, and has particular benefits after meals.

Next I tried Whakaora, a New Zealand native herb blend. It’s earthy, soothing, and calming – perfect for slowing down and taking a mindful moment.

Finally, there’s Pure, made from 100% kawakawa. Sweet, warming and invigorating, it's guaranteed to get your tastebuds tingling!

"At ŌKU they are conscious of Maori Tikanga, ‘doing things the right way’, and this helps guide their decision-making processes. They promote the growing and sustainability of NZ native plants and as they continue to grow are committed to contributing to land restoration and planting projects of the native flora and fauna."

ŌKU donates a portion of profits from every product to planting and restoration projects, and Scott and Helen have personally planted thousands of native plants since starting their journey.

For anyone who loves herbal teas that are made with care and connection to the land, ŌKU is worth exploring. You can check out their full range of teas and products at their website: https://oku.co.nz.

Whether you’re buying for yourself or as a gift, there’s something lovely for everyone.
