I read an interesting article in the Sunday Telegraph at the weekend about make-up artist Rose-Marie Swift who is the founder of the organic beauty brand RMS. She says this about anti-ageing procedures: “I’d never do it. I think there’s something missing in [a person’s] soul when they do that to their face.” I totally agree with her and I loved her steps to natural beauty and wanted to share them with you, because I do all of them (even if I don’t look as great as she does!):
ROSEMARIESWIFT_3048045aRose-Marie Swift’s five steps to natural beauty
1. A good night’s sleep.
2. A green juice in the morning. It takes two seconds to make. If you can’t juice, put it in the blender. A little bit of fruit, some kale leaves, a bit of lemon, add some berries to sweeten it. It tastes amazing and you’ve got more fibre than you need for the day in that one juice.
3. A little bit of sun. We need 20 minutes a day in the sun – it’s the only way to get real vitamin D. When you wear sunscreen, you don’t get the vitamin D from the sun – if you don’t have enough vitamin D, it can cause cancer and depression.
4. Fasting. It gives your organs a break and lets them rest – in the same way that when you sleep at night, it energises you for the day. But we don’t give any rest to our organs when we’re eating really late at night – our bodies are digesting food all night long, so never eat late at night.
5. Drink as much clean water as you can, to flush. I always say the solution to pollution is dilution. It just cleans it out. And never have pop [fizzy drinks]. Never use diet sweetener. Ever.
