Those yellow underarm stains that appear over time on your white tops are not from your sweat alone; they are the result of a reaction between the aluminium in your antiperspirant and your body.
Changing to a natural deodorant will help with this issue; however, it’s not an instant fix as your body can start to detox when you switch, making the problem seem worse. Don’t give up hope, though. In a few weeks, you should notice a difference. If you don’t see an improvement, perhaps try an underarm detox (here’s the link).

What to do about those stains that have already happened?  All is not lost, your shirts can be saved, here’s a few natural methods I’ve used to successfully remove yellow staining.

The first is to soak the shirt in a bowl filled with one cup of Green Goddess Premium Double Strength White Vinegar and two cups of warm water for a couple of hours, then take it out and gently squeeze so it stays damp then soap the offending area with a small amount of Green Goddess Hemp & Eucalyptus Organic Dish Wash (even though this is a dish wash it’s amazing for stain removal) and wash as usual.

If your stain is still clearly visible, after the liquid Castile make a paste with a little Green Goddess Natural-San and rub it into the stain, leave for another couple of hours, then wash again.

The last method is for particularly bad stains; if you can tell yours is going to be hard to shift soak in white vinegar as above and follow these instructions. This is for white items only.

You’ll need 1 Tbsp salt, 1 Tbsp hydrogen peroxide, 1/2 cup Green Goddess Premium Baking Soda

Get a glass bowl and mix together the baking soda, salt, and hydrogen peroxide until it forms a paste. Get your damp shirt and lay it flat on a towel, rub the paste into the stain and leave it for around half an hour then wash as usual. Hydrogen peroxide is a natural whitening agent whilst the baking soda and salt work together to help bring out the stain.

I’m not sure about this method that a friend told me about, but thought I’d mention it so you can give it a try, I’d love to hear if it actually works ….

Wait for a sunny day, get your shirt and wet the stain, put a little liquid Castile soap on the spot and rub it into the stain then go outside and place it on some green grass in the sun. Leave for a few hours keeping it damp and soapy, watch the stain rise to the surface, when this happens rinse the stain and the soap off.
