Did you know that sprinkling Wendyl’s Premium Baking Soda on your feet and in between your toes after drying them throughly can help to prevent athlete’s foot? The baking soda helps to absorb moisture and can also fight the fungus while deodorising your feet.

If you already have the presence of fungus take six cloves of garlic and crush them into three tablespoons of olive oil, cover and leave for a few days. Then strain the oil and rub this on the infected area once a day. It’s also important to boost your immune system if you have this infection and want to get rid of it.

WebMD states that most cases of athlete’s foot are caused by a variety of fungi all belonging to a group called dermatophytes, which also causes jock itch and ringworm. The fungi thrive in closed, warm, moist environments and feed on keratin, a protein found in hair, nails and skin.

Athlete’s foot is mildly contagious. It can be spread through direct contact with the infection and by skin particles left on towels, shoes, or floors. Those with an impaired immune system are at great risk of infection.
